Town of Bansko is a mountain ski resort (900m altitude) in the Pirin Mountains and close to the Rila and Rodopi Mountains. Bansko usually hosts FIS World Cup alpine ski races both for women and men.

Sandanski is just 25 km from the Bulgarian - Greece border. That is good opportunity to explore Aegean Macedonia region.
Kerkini lake is one of the closest landmark. The lake is artificial one and made from the collection of the water of Struma (Strimon) river. It is situated along the migratory flyway for migratory birds. The biosphere is rich with many protected species - birds, snails, amphibian species, reptiles, insects, etc.
The ancient cities of Thessaloniki and Kavala are at equal distance from Sandanski both located at Aegean sea. Rich of historical, cultural and religious landmarks it's worth to be visited and explored.
Aegean sea is just 130 km away. Crystal clear sea water, endless number of wild sandy and rocky beaches are within less than 2 hours drive.
